We follow the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) methods of training which offer a variety of (optional) graded and vocational examinations and class tests. The purpose of these examinations is to give the child a goal and a feeling of accomplishment. All students are encouraged to participate in these exams and have their progress recognized by the relevant board, once they've reached the desirable standard required at each level.
Approximately 3 to 5 terms are required in order for the student to complete their training for each grade and fulfill the necessary exam criteria such as secure technique and artistic quality. The learning rate will vary according to the grade level and the physical and emotional development of the student. The necessary amount of training time for each student is at the discretion of the teacher.
It is very important that every child/student who wishes to take an exam attends all regular classes and any additional coaching classes necessary as this will help them feel secure and present the work with confidence.
